It’s been a few days, but I haven’t had a chance to sum up the Alli’s Journey Gala Concert from Thursday night. It was fabulous! A great change of style this year in getting at least half of the performers to be young talent, so we had a number of younger singers/bands that David Warrack and Shain brought in as well as some dance and singing from a large, and extremely talented, group from a local arts school. But not to take away from all the more experienced talent there which was also incredible! Again, different from last year in that there was more than just singing – comedy, dance, etc. It really was a great time.
I think there were about 500 people there (or at least 500 tickets were sold/allocated) and sponsorship tripled on last year, so a great deal of money was raised to support the mission of Alli’s Journey and it was good to see so many familiar faces.
Photos are still on the camera, as my card reader is back in the UK, so I’ll post an update in a few days with some of the highlights and a link to the album.
In the end, it was a great event that I’m looking forward to the 3rd edition of next year andwe hope to see even more people there. No date has been set yet, but plans are already underway for next year’s edition. Keep an eye on allisjourney.ca for details and if you’d like to help support the charity, options for doing so can be found on the site and through the permalink on the right of this page.
