We’re back from Scotland and Przemek & Helen are on their way home to Canada. It was great having them here and we really had a fabulous time both in London and up North with them.

(Note: It’s amazing how much trouble the authorities make you go through to get on international flights – <100ml of liquids, etc. – but for a domestic flight, you don’t even have to show any ID at all. None. At all.)
Anyway, Scotland is a beautiful country but we barely scratched the surface. We stayed at a fantastic B&B in the middle of the country. Driving through Loch Lomond National Park provided beautiful vistas, green hills (or mountains, depending on where you’re from), and clear water. Plus, unlike down in London, the weather was fantastic.
Stirling Castle was very cool but there wasn’t much else to do in Stirling (we didn’t make it to the William Wallace Memorial in time before it shut). Edinburgh, however, offered much to see and do. The Castle was a huge and incredible fortress. The Royal Mile was a great walk and off to the side of Hollyroodhouse (the palace where the Queen stays when in Edinburgh) is Hollyrood Park with huge hikes up steep paths. There was also a lot more to see and do, but unfortunately we ran out of time…
