What a great weekend!
Quick recap for the quick weekend:
Arrived Thursday night and spent the evening with Anne, Amir’s girlfriend. We had seen Amir for about an hour at JFK while we were arriving and he was departing for London.
Friday was shopping day in the city and later at Woodbury Commons with Simon, Cat and Darren – spent a fortune, but as it was USD, it wasn’t actually that much! Then we all headed over to Garrison for the rehearsal dinner. Great fun and good to see so many people, many of whom we hadn’t seen in a couple of years.
Satuday morning we wandered around the local town, Cold Springs – very pretty. Then the wedding – fabulous! Started with the ceremony at Boscobel, a historic restoration on the Hudson with beautiful grounds. Ridiculously hot and humid, but the champagne helped…
Then we moved to the Country Club for the dinner and party which was fabulous. Great food, perhaps the best band I had ever heard, and we had a wonderful time with old and new friends. Then back to the house for the ‘after-party’, with drinking, dancing and horseshoes. The bus ride back to the hotel was eventful with the bus getting stuck on a flowerpot…
Sunday morning I realised that I had lost my wallet during the wedding, but it was just a few cards, so no big deal to replace everything. We had breakfast with the new Mr. and Mrs. Stubbs, then drove back to New York. Darren had stayed upstate and we parted ways with Simon and Cat in the city.
We met up with Uncle Brian and Michael for lunch in Brooklyn then were dropped off at the airport to find we were delayed by 6 hours. A nice end…
It might take a few days to get the photos sorted as we all took different pics and want to merge them, but as soon as I have the album together, I’ll update and link it for all to see. I also owe you the album from Lisa’s birthday. I’ll get there…
