Today was a gorgeous day, so we spent most of it on the beach. The sand is incredible, but the water is the coldest I’ve ever seen in the sea. I mean, it was so cold that it actually started hurting when up to my knees for about 3 seconds.
Then, after a late lunch and an hour relaxing at the hotel, we went to the Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens, which are lovely grounds, laid out beautifully, with great flora and access to trails up Table Mountain for the adventurous.
Then, we wanted to head up the Table Mountain Aerial Cableway to watch sunset from the top, but the wind returned and brought clouds. So we’re relaxing now in our room before heading out for dinner.
Tomorrow is Robben Island.
In the meantime, we’ve had a look at some of our photos to date and here are a few of the really good ones. This is a really amazing place:
Some of the Twelve Apostles as viewed from Clifton Beach (as we’re driving into Camps Bay):
The view of Lion’s Head and Camps Bay from our guest house:
Lisa and I in Franschhoek:
Three of the Twelve Apostles from the balcony at our guest house. Apparently, there is a trail from the back of the house into the nature reserve and all along the base of the cliffs!
Sunset last night:
Trying to take a picture of the “Tablecloth” flowing off Table Mountain while driving and we got this. It’s just a cool ‘accidental’ photo.
In the Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens, a great shot of a cute little rondavel in the foliage, with the mountain in the background.
Lisa and I at the base of the cable car to the top of Table Mountain – we didn’t end up going up, but got this really nice photo of us taken with the “Tablecloth” flowing down the side of the cliff.
