We were out for dinner with Kana last night (great to see her; she’s moving to Zurich!) and a couple of her friends at the Oxford and Cambridge Club. Very posh, a real privilege to get inside and see the place. You can imagine all the politics and ‘big decisions’ that must have been made inside those walls over the last couple hundred years.
She mentioned she was walking near Piccadilly Circus and saw a Tim Hortons! So, after dinner we walked back there (in the torrential downpour) and sure enough, there was one in a Spar convenience store!
Granted, it’s just a coffee machine and the doughnuts don’t look quite right, but provided you can get your own quantity of milk and sugar right, even the machine coffee made as a double-double is a pretty close and welcome taste of home. It is most definitely Tim’s coffee and the cups (no roll-ups to win) are from Quebec.
Got a few funny photos that I’ll post when Kana sends them to me, but if you’re in London and need a fix of Timmy’s it’s in the Spar on Haymarket!!!
