So of course two days after I leave for South Africa our router dies and Lisa is without a network for a month…
Now, I’m back home and we’re finally back online. And, at least for me, it’s been quite a month. Based down in Jo’burg on an interesting project with a great client and team. Not much to do down there in the city though on the weekends so instead I headed out of town for two great weekends of African travel.
The first weekend, Gene and I flew up to Zambia to see Victoria Falls.

One of the most awesome sights I’ve ever seen. With water levels high we couldn’t raft the Zambezi, but we got absolutely drenched just looking at the Falls from above and hiked down to the bottom through rivers, mud, rock and gnat. The next day we crossed to Zimbabwe (on the day after the election) to check the Falls out from that side. An absolutely incredible 24hrs!
My final weekend in Africa our whole team went to an island resort in Bazaruto, Mozambique.

Just a few kilometers off the coast across from Vilancolus. A very pretty place on the ocean with great snorkeling and warm Indian Ocean. Big tides as well, so half the time the sea wasn’t there (it had receded about 3km). Very relaxing.
Now I’m back in the UK, have no signs yet of malaria, am about to start a new, fairly local project, and am looking forward to our road trip to Scotland in a few weeks.
And we’re all caught up…
