So, it’s been a very long time not just since we’ve updated this blog, but since we’ve also updated our photos. Lots of stuff has happened since our last catch up: Lisa and Isla are back in Toronto; I’m still here in London (although going back next weekend for a few days); I’m moving back on 17 May and starting work there 1 June, and more…

I’ve just had a lovely weekend here in London with sunshine and 20 degree weather. I spent most of it in the parks and playing tourist on the South Bank, but in chunks, I’ve managed to finally finish grouping, editing and posting all our photos from the last while.

Rather than write a whole story about each, I’ll just list all the albums below maybe with a quick description, and the direct link to the album. Most are also accessible on Facebook, as this post will no doubt be shortly…

Final weeks in London

A couple of weeks before moving home, Lisa and Isla went out with one of their friends to Blenheim Palace.

The week before the move home, our close friends Tracy and Louise Baskin celebrated their 40th birthday by hosting a really cool party at The Crypt.

The next day we had our farewell party at The Windsor Castle

Over the course of our final few weeks in London, we spent quite a bit of time playing tourist and wandering around town. We also took a lot of fun photos around the house as we were packing up and getting organised. Here are some of our favourite shots from those final weeks.

First week in Toronto

The day after we arrived back in Toronto was Matthew Guzy’s 1st Birthday party.

The day after that – our second in Canada – we hosted a Welcome Home and Meet Isla tea party. We made three times as many scones as necessary (and somehow we never managed to take any photos of them) but it was a lot of fun and great to see so many old friends again.

During the rest of our first week back in Toronto, lots of other stuff was going on, with lots of family in town and many events and get-togethers. Here are some other photos from that first week back.

Last weekend was my first on my own here in London and I played tourist by going to to which I hadn’t ever been before.

And Finally

I know it’s a bit out of seuqnce, but over the almost five years in London, we managed to get around the town quite a bit and see some amazing things. We also got to do a lot of travelling, evidence of which can be found on our Travel Photos Site.

However, we also managed to take quite a few really cool pictures in London proper, so, as a final album for now, we’d like to share some of our favourite photos from London-town itself.

Anyway, that’s it for now, hope fully we’ll be able to keep you all up to date more frequently with how we’re settling into life back in Canada. But in the meantime, hope you enjoy all the albums above.

We’ll write again soon.

On two continents…

So, it’s been a while, and I know we’ve been negligent in getting recent photos online but we’ve been really busy.

It’s been two weeks now since Lisa and Isla got back to Canada and in that time we’ve had Jeff, Samara and the kids come to town, a bunch of parties, Isla’s baby naming ceremony, Passover and the birth of Sarah and Trevor’s beautiful daughter Mikah. I’ve also been back in London for a week now (with four to go) and have settled into Shain’s flat, been quite busy with work, gotten out of town to Windsor for the day, pub quizzed and much more. So hopefully, you’ll forgive us for not being on the ball with photos…

I promise to try to get a whole host of pics online in the next few days: goodbye parties, welcome home parties, generic fun and family photos, and even my trip to Windsor Castle yesterday.

More soon then…

Back in Canada

So, after a long day of travelling (which was preceded by long days of packing and parties), we’re now back in Canada. Lots to catch up on and many photos of our last week in London to share, but it will take a little time to get settled and everything sorted. In the meantime, just know that all is well and we’ll be in touch soon.

Cheers,
L, J & I

Two weeks to go and we’ll be on a plane back to Canada.  And while we live in a pretty small place and have tried not to accumulate too much over our years here, it still seems as though there’s lots to do.  At least we’ll have some help with most of the packing.  It’s the organising and purging in advance that we’ll need to find the time to do…

Anyway, the weather has been beautiful these past few days and, while we’ll do some more London tourist-y things in our last few days, we took Isla down to the South Bank for a walk on Sunday.  She was in a great mood and we took some fun pictures.

In the meantime, we hope to see many of you in London at our farewell party next Sunday at the Windsor; those of you in Toronto, hope to see you soon.

…until the Big Move Back!

We’ve made most of the arrangements, have started to get ourselves organised and the time is ticking away fast.  In just under four weeks we’ll be back in Toronto (well Lisa and Isla anyway – I’ll be there for a week before coming back to the UK for a month).

What have we been up to lately? Well, many parties (with more to come), a day in Hertfordshire with some friends last week and just enjoying our remaining tiime in the UK.  We checked out the new Saatchi museum yesterday, bought a new pram and have sold most of our larger items we won’t be bringing back to Canada (anyone in London need a sofa?).

Isla is growing up really fast, changing every day – she’s now laughing, holding stuff, starting to teethe (we think) and is quite responsive to smiles and other gestures/sounds – basically, an absolute delight.  We can’t wait to introduce her to all of you back in T.O.

Anyway, I know we don’t update this too frequently but hopefully we’ll be able to do so more often as we spend our final weeks here in Europe and as we settle back into North America.  No promises though…
