What a beautiful day!!! There hasn’t been snow like this in London since 1991!

Snowy London

…when Lisa opened the front door, Ben (a5-yr old from next door) had a snowball all ready for her….hilarious!!!

(I know we say it’s great now, of course when we’re back in Canada and buried under 2 feet and frozenin -20deg we’ll be singing a different tune…but until then)  :) :) :)

Two months

Isla is two months old today.  Amazing!

Holiday Fun

It’s a rare year when Hanukkah and XMAS fall at the same time, and especially with my being off work and it being Isla’s first holiday season, we had lots of fun.

2008 XMAS + Hanukkah

We spent both XMAS Eve and Day with close friends – first with Darren and Tree (before she moved to the US to join the circus), then with the Baskin’s as we have done every year since we moved here.

Hanukkah was also fun, with Isla being mesmerised by the candles each night; more so as more candles got added each day. Some of our favourite pictures came last night when the whole menorah was lit.

Anyway, one week to go until I’m back at work and I’m expecting a few busy months before the move back home. In the meantime, however, there’s still New Year’s – so whatever you are doing, we hope you have a fantastic time.

More to come in 2009!

Happy Monthday Isla!

Today is Isla’s 1-month-day!

We’ve had Ziona, Norman and Pam here for much of the last month and today was our first full day after they had all left.  It was great to have them around – both fun and really really helpful (really!) – but it is also nice to now be on our own.

We finally managed to consolidate all the photos from the various cameras we’ve had here the past few weeks and have put some of our favourites in these two types of slideshows.

The first is with Slide…

…the second is a YouTube video.

Not sure which works best, so let us know what you think and we’ll use that format from now on.

Anyway, aside from the next two light days at work, I’m off until January which is great.

In the meantime, not much to say – everyone is well and we’re just having a great time.

So, as we’ve now added a fresh face to our family, we’ve decided the time was ripe to put a fresh face on this blog.

Our New Family

Our New Family

To all of you reading this, most of the changes will appear to be cosmetic only, although behind the scenes there are quite a few functional differences.

The main difference is that this site is no longer hosted on our PC at home (i.e. no more tech support for me!), but has been migrated to a free WordPress site.  Aside from the security of being hosted elsewhere, it has the added benefit of not ultimately going down for months as we make the move back to Canada.

In addition, while Lisa understandably has her hands full, we’ve also migrated and merged her jewellery site, Designs by Lisa, into this site directly – link at the top of the page.

Please stay in touch, feel free to leave us comments and let us know what you think!
